Welcome to londonjewelleryexports.com London Jewellers Target Global Markets at Summer Fair 08 Summer Fair London (22-25 June, 2008 at Excel) provided a showcase for a group of the capital’s hottest jewellery and silverware suppliers looking to sell their designs not simply to British retailers but also to the many overseas buyers who visited the show. The LJE group offered visitors to the show an eclectic buying experience with plenty of very different, but fashion-forward products to appeal to all tastes and pockets. Exhibitors included a number of well-established names such the pearl, glass and silver jewellery supplier, Martick Jewellery, and the contemporary silverware supplier M C Hersey, as well as relatively young companies such as Rachel Entwistle and Lua Lua – both of whom are already selling into such icons of style as the shop at Tate Modern. “We are proud to be able to present this talented group as just a taster of London’s rich jewellery talent,” said the BJA’s Lindsey Straughton. “Each of these companies offers a strong level of creativity and individuality. In November a group of six London designers showed their jewellery at Kara, a consumer facing fine jewellery show held in the Bourse du Commerce off the Rue du Louvre, in the heart of Paris. The event is often described as the parisian version of Goldsmiths Fair and this was the first time an organised group of British designers had attended. The group, which included Alan Vallis, Daisy Choi, Ana de Costa, Jacqueline Cullen, Josef Koppmann and Rebecca Steiner, were supported by LJE Project Manager Lindsey Straughton, and LJE adviser Aldyth Crowther. Interpreters were on hand to help the designers promote their jewellery to discerning French buyers. All of the designers sold pieces and made valuable trade contacts.
