press release Silverware Set for Export Success (Release Date: 30 August, 2007) Work from twelve of London’s most innovative and exciting silver producers will be show on the London Jewellery Exports Stand C569 at this year’s International Jewellery London. This eclectic showcase of silver vessels has been drawn together as part of the London Jewellery Exports (LJE) project, funded by the City Fringe Partnership with investment from the London Development Agency and delivered by the British Jewellers’ Association. The exhibition will be a focal point for an inward trade mission from Japan which is being organised by British Jewellery and Giftware Exports the BJA’s export wing to coincide with International Jewellery London and which will bring a group of key Japanese buyers and journalists on a complimentary visit to the show. Those taking part in the exhibition are Alan Craxford, Angela Cork, Brian Williamson, Emily Jo Gibbs, Emma Farquaharson, Grant Macdonald, Julie Chamberlain, Stewart Hersey, Mary Ann Simmons, Richard Fox, Vicki Ambery-Smith and Wayne Meeten. “This small exhibition shows just how diverse the silverware currently being made in the City of London actually is,” says the BJA’s Lindsey Straughton who is coordinating the project. “We have a huge range of different looks, techniques and price points on show and I feel sure that the pieces will have wide appeal, not simply to overseas buyers but also to British retailers seeking something a little bit different.”
