Ruth Anthony Unit 28 I design and make hand engraved jewellery and silverware using precious metals, gemstones and wood. I trained as a jeweller and subsequently worked in Hatton Garden learning the craft of Hand Engraving – a skill that forms the central focus of my designs. Finding inspiration from a wide variety of sources such as architecture, plants, flowers and the rich history of engraving on metal - from firearms to engraved prints - I design patterns and images that are first drawn onto the metal and then cut by hand using an engravers burin. I produce an annual collection of work as well as producing one-off pieces and commissions.
