Graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2007, Ornella has recently joined Cockpit Arts in Deptford with the Belhouse Foundation Award to set up her own business.

After having caught the attention of the Goldsmiths’ Hall who included her on their website, Ornella has also been offered a stand for the prestigious Goldsmith’s Fair next autumn. Furthermore, Ornella has recently attracted the attention of the press as well as organizations such as the “P&B cultural showcase” and the “South London Women Artists” who are now featuring her work on their website. And finally Ornella has just been short listed for the famous UK Jewellery Award in both categories “Young Designer of the Year” and “Designer of the Year”.

Ornella is fascinated by growth patterns within the natural environment and geological formations - characteristic of the French Alps where she grew up. Her original one-off pieces are meticulously hand-carved and have a strong sculptural aspect. She combines natural elements such as minerals and vegetal with precious metals & stones, creating unusual, very organic, outstanding, and eye-catching pieces.

During her training at the Royal College of Art, Ornella also developed an unusual way of producing jewellery - growing it! Her experiments with the electroforming process allowed her to grow metals into various organic shapes and textures that are characteristic of her “I wish I was an Alchemist” collection.

Her latest collection called “Abyss”, launched during the Coutts London Jewellery Week, has attracted a lots of attention from the public. With this collection, Ornella dives us into the deep sea where underwater volcanic eruptions sculpt the landscape among the rocks and coral trees. All the pieces are produced in limited edition, and combine precious elements from the sea with precious metals in three different colours: black, gold and silver. The range includes a series of rings, earrings, and pendants, all very organic in form and typically representative of Ornella’s unique style.
