Jenny Llewellyn, based in East London, graduated from Middlesex University in 2007, since then she has been continuing making and developing her work and research into the use of translucent silicone in her jewellery.
Jenny’s work takes inspiration from the luminous colours, shapes and movement of creatures from the deep. Using these elements to transform them into playful pieces that move with the wearer and glow in the dark.
Colour has always been a significant visual feature in her jewellery, the process of introducing new colour surfaces and materials into her work is important to how the pieces develop.
By using the translucent qualities of silicone and introducing phosphorescent and bright colour pigments, Jenny combines these with the shifting reflective surfaces of metal and plastics to convey some of the qualities of underwater life forms.
