Bena Bena is a London based label founded by Anita Gohil. With a degree in Fine Art specializing in print based media from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Anita fell into fashion through work experience with an independent fashion label. After working with designer Russell Sage (an Innovative London based fashion Designer), Anita used her mother's childhood nickname to form her own business. Bena was established. The Bena brooches are designed in Hackney, inspired by East London, a place of everyday random ephemera: posing pigeons, elusive town foxes, gallivanting city cats. All made in the UK, the brooches are either screen-printed Perspex or laser-etched wooden pieces.
